Yellow.......

has always been a favorite color of mine.....true bright yellow, pale barely there yellow and everything in between yellow.

I have some fabulous slipper chairs in yellow print with florals on them that adorned my nook in my house in Eagle for many years.....they were "fluffy" as my 9 year old use to call them.... and everyone loved sitting at my nook and feeling their comfort.......it was hard to get them away from the table....they were that comfortable......

I thought about all the "yellowish" things I have been seeing on the net....and yesterday felt how much that color brought light to everyone and brightness...the beginning of spring.....happiness....;o) So yesterday in the horrid winds and grey skies we shared here yesterday.....I simply took myself away... to where time, sight and warmth...engaged into yellows....and the day seemed a bit brighter....hope you enjoy just a few pics.....and it gives you a bit of warmth.....and smiles.....

A touch of......

Paris.....on a cloudy and windy day in Idaho.
I love all kinds of dress forms. I have a few antique ones, a few reproduction ones and a few wire ones that adorn my home and the shelves of my studio.
This little one I found recently and thought it would be fun to get creative.....so I got out some favorite things and "dressed" it up.....
Toole adorns the bodice and in the back is a BIG bow....right below the front bow is a rub on of roses with eyelash trim around the waist. The striped ribbon is wired and I gathered some peppermint colored twine and roses for a little embellishment on the skirt.

The butterfly is cut from a paper pack and glossy accented with a few different sizes of pink pearl bling. Underneath that is some lace trim I have been saving for something very special. The skirt is pleated paper and I blinged it up a little around the bottom of the skirt. I added velum pink stickers all around the skirt after I pleated it. And the bottom is a paper trim.
I like how it turned out....and I am appreciate your time in stopping by today....:o)

Thought I was done for the day.....

but found this beautifully designed french Country kitchen....yes please...so many ideas for the new house.....:o)
I love the brick...and after all...I did marry the "brickman"...LOL...we have often talked about putting a brick wall in our kitchen and dining room. This kitchen is quite similar to the one we have planned. The colors and the textures and cabinetry.....now I am really anxious to get on with this move...
Okay...no more posts for the day.........have a great evening.
Thanks again for stopping by.......

We found this mirror......

That I will antique and bronze and put into our new home in the powder room. It's ornate and beautifully done with molding that looks vintage and elegant...I can not wait!
Thanks for stopping by...I hope your day has been an enjoyable as mine.......

The little one......

last friday night....decided to come in from the yard and do the "Terrier Shuffle" as my hubby and I call it. This is an action that Bentley has done since he was a tiny puppy. It consists of him throwing his back legs behind him, one at a time....and the front of his body lifts up....its done for pure pleasure...(and showing off) and he's never had any problems with it before.....well not so fast.....:o(
This time for some reason he "shuffled" twice and we heard him screaming with pain. I though maybe he had caught a nail in the carpet or his knee cap had become disconneted. (Luxar Patella) is so common with these little guys. Upon examination and he being in definate pain, his hip was sunk in so far I figured his hip was "out of joint." Yikes!
So through a long night .....we arrived at the Vet's on Saturday morning and after a couple X-rays....discovered indeed it was completely out of socket. After a bit of gas and it manipulated right back into place....Mr. B. is sporting a fetching "sling" that will keep him "tri-podding" for a week...off that little hip and very much not liking his situation that he caused himself.
Oh yes....the "boobin" has begun and is in full force.
A note to self......never do the "Terrier Shuffle again"....yeah right...like that's ever going to happen...LOL
Thanks for stopping by and your concern....he will be fine...has great drugs...and has the Hub and I waiting on him....and he's enjoying that to the fullest...LOL....:o)

I have been thinking lately......

of how to add warmth to our new home...soon to be finished in Boise.
I have scoured the pages of decor magazines and the internet and have decided that there are so many talented women with great idea and fabulous possibilities. I never really knew how many of us there were out there that just wanted to add some warmth to our homes and divide our days and time with doing so.
Women have hectic and as I like to call it "non-not-working" lives. But inbetween all that accompanies our day is that little bit of......"I need something to do creative and extra today....just for me." Whether you plan it with a friend to go "junque" shopping, "second hand store therapy" or antiqueing in some favor haunt...there are those of us that want to do nothing better than to revive something that one has tossed, disgaurded or abandon ...just waiting for us to make it come alive and worthy of being placed in our home and offer us that "ah" moment when we need it the most.
Most inventive is the woman that finds something to adorn her home and has been repurposed. I hope whatever you have to admire in your own home today, it offers you a smile and warmth after your day of hecticness and labor.
Thank so much for stopping by today.......please come back again.........
